This bundle is specifically for people with no experience who would like to start a career in the Occupationally Directed Education and Training Industry.
To help you understand the National Qualifications Framework and the education industry, the programme will start with the skills assessor and design and develop course (u/s 115753 & u/s 115755), after which you will start with the ODETDP National Certificate. During this period, you will also do the facilitator unit standard 117178 which is built into the course.
Once you have completed the ODETDP National Certificate, you will move on to the moderator unit standard 115759.
The National Certificate in Occupationally-Directed Education, Training and Development Practices (ODETDP) is a mid-level qualification in the field of training and development. It is a valuable starting point for those who have been practicing in the field without formal accreditation.
[expand title=”Is this qualification for me?”] This qualification, and the online delivery mode, has been designed specifically for those individuals who wish to build on their subject matter knowledge in any discipline in order to enter the field of training and development as a career. This qualification will also be useful for:
- Learning facilitators
- Assessors
- Learner and learning supporters
- Skills development facilitators
In the online learning mode, Chartall Business College has curated all your training material into weeks for easy access, although you can move around in the subject material if you wish. You will be allocated to an online e-lecturer who will assist you with queries, run e-lectures and e-tutorials, and keep you on track.
The course material is a combination of e-learning and pre-recorded e-lectures that you work through systematically in your own time, at your own place and in your own space. You can repeat any lesson or video at any time, which is impossible to do in class. This means you can review difficult concepts slowly and often for deeper learning and insight.
In addition, there are live e-tutorials each week to give you an opportunity to engage with your e-lecturer in real time. You will have the same number of contact hours as a learner who completes the training in a classroom, just you will have more flexibility.
[/expand] [expand title=”What are the entry requirements for online learning?”] Learners must have a PC or tablet (or smartphone, but this could be too small for effective learning) with sufficient internet connectivity to download the online learning materials and view videos, as well as attend the live e-tutorials. You should also ideally be employed in a junior management role so that you can relate your learning practically to your workplace (although this is not essential and many complete successfully while not working).Access to real work examples of materials, policies and documents created in the ETD space will be advantageous as it will shorten the time to completion and provide supporting evidence of competency.
In addition, learners need to be proficient in English at National Senior Certificate level.
A good level of computer literacy is also an advantage.
The facilitator, assessor and moderator unit standards are also accredited, and successful students will be awarded a Statement of Results from the ETDP SETA.
Chartall Business College is accredited to offer this full qualification and the individual unit standards
The advantage of the portfolio as a mode of assessment is that it can be used after the learning to support the learner’s CV as it showcases what they can do practically (you will need to keep a copy of it for this purpose).
Learners may also be required to write a Final Summative Assessment when they have successfully completed their portfolio. Chartall will keep enrolled learners up-to-date with the SETA’s decision on this possible assessment.
