The Moderator accredited short course (Unit Standard 115759) will train you to conduct the internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments.

This short course can only be obtained through online learning.

The credit calculation is based on the assumption that learners have previous assessment experience when starting to learn towards this unit standard, and in particular, recognition for the unit standard: 115753: “Conduct outcomes-based assessments”. It is also highly recommended that candidates should achieve 115755: “Design and develop outcomes-based assessments” before attempting this unit standard:

It is further assumed that the person has evaluative expertise within the field in which they are moderating assessments.

It is essential that candidate moderators have access to the summative assessments of real learners. These will be moderated by you as part of your own summative assessment.

Candidate moderators also need a good command of English (reading and writing) so that they can analyse and interpret the relevant outcomes and unit standards (all of which are written in English).

You should also be computer-literate, with access to WIFI and a PC.

This short course is linked to the moderator unit standard, which is registered by SAQA at NQF 6 (10 credits) under the SAQA ID 115759. The full title of the unit standard is “conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments”. The unit standard is quality assured by the ETDP SETA. Chartall Business College is an accredited provider.
