The qualification covers all the required management, marketing, people, ethical, legal and financial skills necessary to manage a team of agents effectively. The first step in fulfilling the PPRS’s requirements are:
- the passing of the Professional Designation Exam (PDE), and
- ongoing Continuing Professional Development [CPD]).
The National Certificate in Real Estate is the PPRA-required qualification to operate as a Principal property practitioner.
The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mode of attaining the qualification is perfect for existing Principal property practitioners or branch managers (or ex Principal property practitioners or branch managers) who need the qualification to be compliant with the PPRA’s requirements.
Non-principal property practitioners who are looking to develop their skills so that they can start their own real estate agency, or acquire a franchise, are generally not RPL candidates and they are advised to rather attend training to earn the qualification.
The qualification provides successful learners with access to the Chartall Business College Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
[expand title=”Is this qualification only for South Africans?”] Anyone can complete the Real Estate qualifications. However, in terms of the new Property Practitioner Act clause 50, the PPRA may not issue a Fidelity Fund Certificate to anyone who is not a South African citizen and does not lawfully reside in the Republic.[/expand]
