As an independent training consultant, she contracted to various training providers that offered skills programmes and learnerships, as well as UNISA and private universities such as IMM and Varsity College.
Her experience includes insurance related qualifications, business modules such as business management, marketing and risk management as well as numerical modules such as financial management and business statistics.
During October 2020 she was selected to present an abstract at the IIEVC eSymposium titled: The application of “learning by doing” in the online classroom for 2nd year financial management students.
Karin’s teaching philosophy is “to make a difference”. One should always bear in mind that each student in your class is unique, bringing their own educational history to the experience. Furthermore, understanding the individual profile of each student is key to success. She believes that as a lecturer one has a responsibility in how you make a difference. Always consider what you say to a student as well as how you say it. If you want to make a difference, it should be a positive and life changing one.
